The D-MAX front subframe is a new replacement and performance upgrade for Nissan SR-powered S-chassis cars. D-MAX developed it after seeing factory front subframes become increasingly expensive, difficult to find, bent, or damaged around the lower-control-arm mounting holes after years of street and drift use.
Modern drift setups using modified knuckles, extended lower control arms, high steering angle, and high-grip tires place significantly more load on the front subframe than the original chassis was designed to see. D-MAX based this unit on the factory Nissan SR-engine front subframe while reinforcing selected areas for increased strength.
Vehicle applications:
- Nissan Silvia S13 / PS13 with SR engine
- Nissan 180SX / RPS13 with SR engine
- Nissan Silvia S14 with SR20DE or SR20DET
- Nissan Silvia S15 with SR20DE or SR20DET
Specifications:
- High-tensile steel construction
- Factory-style SR engine mounting configuration
- Steering rack remains in the OEM mounting position
- Lower control arm mounting position: OEM location or 20mm outward / 20mm extended specification depending on version
- Selected areas revised and reinforced compared with the original Nissan design
S13 / 180SX installation note: When installing this S14-style subframe on an S13-series chassis, D-MAX states that S14-series steering rack housing brackets are required. Nissan bracket part numbers are 11232-65F00 RH and 11233-65F00 LH.
This is a particularly useful replacement for drift cars with extended lower control arms or modified front knuckles, as worn factory subframes can become elongated at the control-arm mounting points or distorted after front suspension impacts.
D-MAX part number: DMEMSR200A
